Chicken Makhani Recipe
1. Brief description
Chicken makhani is also known as butter chicken. Since it is a traditional curry from Punjab, India, it is a curry made by adding makhani to curry. ‘Makhni’ means ‘buttered’ in Indian. There are various types of makhani curry depending on the ingredients, but if chicken is used, it becomes chicken makhani.
Chicken makhani made in this way is soft because it is made with butter, and it is not spicy because tomato sauce is the main ingredient, so even first-timers can easily eat it.
2. Cooking ingredients(2 Servings)
4 chicken legs (or 300g chicken thigh meat), 200g whole grain tomato (or 1/2 can canned), 1/2 onion, 2 pieces solid curry(or curry powder), 1/2 cup plain yogurt, 1 cup water, 1T butter
3. How to cook
Step 1. Put the chicken legs in the microwave and heat them for about 3 minutes.(Refrigerated chicken is warmed up for about 3 minutes, and frozen chicken legs are heated using a microwave oven long enough to cook to the inside. When using whole chicken legs, it is good to make a cut in advance so that the inside is well cooked and the sauce can penetrate well.)
Step 2. Chop the onion finely.
Step 3. Melt the butter in a heated pan, add the onion and stir-fry. When the onion becomes translucent, add the chicken and stir-fry.
Step 4. Add wholegrain tomatoes and water and bring to a boil.(If you add milk instead of water, you can enjoy a softy taste.)
Step 5. When the ingredients in Step 4. boil, add solid curry, mix plain yogurt, and bring to a boil.
Step 6. When the water boils down enough, serve it on a plate.
