Nasi Goreng Recipe

Selected by CNN as one of the world’s 50 most delicious dishes, Nasi Goreng is a popular fried rice dish in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. Nasi Goreng is a Malay-Indonesian word meaning fried (Goreng) + rice (Nasi). It is said that the origin was made to preserve rice for a long time because of the high temperature and humid climate unique to Indonesia. Along with Mee Goreng, it is a representative delicious dish of Indonesia.
2. Cooking ingredients(2 servings)
10 peeled prawns, 100g chicken breast cut into dice, 2 eggs, 5g(1t) minced garlic, 5g(1t) minced ginger, 1/2 onion dice, 1/dice carrot 2 pieces, 1/2 paprika cut into dice, a little bit of peas, a little bit of bean sprouts, 300g of cold rice, cooking oil, salt, pepper
Nasi Goreng Sauce
Sambal oelek 10g(2t), Kecap Manis 30g(2T), Fish sauce 7g(1/2T) or use commercially available Nasi Goreng sauce.
3. How to cook
Step 1. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat, add minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry lightly.
Step 2. Add the chicken breast and prawns to the pan and stir-fry. Then add onion, carrot, paprika and peas and stir-fry well.
Step 3. Season moderately with salt and pepper.
Step 4. Add cold rice and pre-made Nasi Goreng sauce, and stir-fry well with a spatula so that the seasoning is well mixed with the rice.
Step 5. In another pan preheated to medium heat, make fried eggs or scrambled eggs and place them on top of the Nasi Goreng .

Depending on your taste, you can add pineapple or fruit cut into dice for a sweet taste.
When eating Nasi Goreng in Indonesia, it is eaten with a snack called ‘Kerupuk’ to neutralize the spicy taste.
It goes well with cold beer, and the beer neutralizes the spicy taste well.
