Arancini (Italian fried rice ball) Recipe

1. Brief description

Arancini is an Italian dish of small baked balls made from rice, like risotto. Arancini means little oranges in Italian. It got its name because it resembles an orange. Arancini is a popular dish in Italy. It can be made with a variety of ingredients, such as mozzarella cheese, beef, sausage, seafood, vegetables, and mushrooms.

2. Cooking ingredients(6 pieces, 40 minutes)

200g rice, 1 onion (200g), 30g minced beef (or pork, bacon, ham, etc.), 1/4 paprika, 1/4 carrot, 1/4 onion, 30g minced garlic, 1T butter, salt , a little pepper powder

Fried Ingredients
2T flour, 1 egg, 4T bread crumbs

Ragu sauce (or can be substituted with tomato sauce or ketchup)
200g minced beef, 250g mashed tomato, 1/2 cup water

3. How to cook

Step 1. Finely chop various vegetables and meat. Tomatoes are finely chopped. You can also use canned whole tomatoes instead of tomatoes.

Step 2. Add some cooking oil to a heated pan, add minced garlic and various vegetables, and stir-fry well for about 2 minutes. Add the minced beef and fry well for about 3 minutes.

Step 3. Add chopped tomatoes and water to the ingredients in Step 2. and boil them down to make ragu sauce.

Step 4. Put cooking oil in a heated pan, add little ingredients(minced garlic, onion, carrot, meat, etc.) and stir-fry over medium heat for 3 minutes.

Step 5. Add rice, a little butter, and the ingredients from Step 4. to a bowl and mix. Divide the mixed ingredients into 6 equal portions and shape them into round shapes.

Step 6. Beat eggs well in another bowl. Coat the ingredients in 5. with the dough in the order of flour, egg, and bread crumbs.

Step 7. Put 5 cups of cooking oil in a deep pan and boil it at 180 degrees. Add the ingredients from Step 6. and fry over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown.

Step 8. Strain through a sieve to drain the oil, and serve in a bowl with the ragu sauce.

Instead of ragu sauce, you can easily dip it in a sauce that suits your taste, such as ketchup or mustda sauce and so on.

Freshly made arancini are very hot, so it is best to cool them down before eating.
