Scotch egg Recipe

1. Brief description

Scotch eggs seem to be a traditional Scottish food just by looking at the name, but in fact, it is known that they were developed by fortnum & mason, London’s largest food store. In modern times, it is made with pork, but in those days it was made with anchovies. And in the past, it was made as a meal for travelers.

2. Cooking ingredients(4 pieces)

4 eggs, 30g flour (2T), cooking oil
Batter : 50g (1/4 cup) flour, 1 egg, 200g (1cup) breadcrumbs
Dough : 200g minced pork, 1 egg white, 45g (3T) bread crumbs, 5g (1t) minced garlic, a little bit of parsley powder, a little bit of salt, a little bit of pepper powder

Sauce: ketchup, mustard and sauce according to taste

3. How to cook

Step 1. Add eggs to boiling water and boil half-boiled or fully-boiled according to your taste.

Step 2. Add minced garlic, parsley powder, and egg white to the minced pork and mix with a little salt and pepper.

Step 3. Peel the hard-boiled egg, roll it in flour, and wrap it with the dough from step 2.

Step 4. Beat the eggs, then coat them with flour, egg water, and breadcrumbs in order.

Step 5. Put cooking oil in a pan, heat the pan, add the ingredients prepared in step 4., and fry until golden.

Step 6. Place the prepared scotch eggs and sauce on the plate.

4. cooking tips

You can use quail eggs instead of eggs to make them easier to eat. Depending on your taste, add herbs to the dough, or decorate with herbs. Since it was initially made as a food for travelers, now, still widely made as a picnic food.
