Elotes, Mexican Grilled Corn, Drug corn Recipe

1. Brief description

Elotes are Mexican street food. buttered corn topped with chili seasoning, cheese powder, sugar, mayonnaise and parsley. It is a snack that is eaten not only in Mexico, but all over the world. Interestingly, in Korea, this food is so delicious that it is also called ‘drug corn’.

2. Cooking ingredients(2 servings, 20 minutes)

2 corn, butter 30g(2T), sugar 15g(1T), salt 15g(1T), mayonnaise 30g(2T), parmesan cheese powder 30g(2T), Tajin seasoning 30g(2T) (or use chili seasoning. Tajin sesoning is a Mexican seasoning which mixed with chili, salt and lime. If difficult to find Tajin seasoning, use chili seasoning according to your taste), a little parsley powder

3. How to cook

Step 1. Boil water in a pot, add corn and 15g (1T) salt.

Step 2. Boil it and rub the butter on the warm corn surface to melt it.

Step 3. Add butter, mayonnaise, sugar and salt and bring to a boil to make the sauce.

Step 4. Put the corn on the pan and pour the sauce. Then, roll it well until the corn is roasted until golden brown.

Step 5. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese powder, chili seasoning and parsley powder on the corn.

Step 6. Insert wooden chopsticks or wooden sticks into the bottom of the corn wick to make it easier to eat.

Tajin seasoning also tastes fresh because of the lime. If you don’t have Tajin seasoning, you can even taste the refreshing taste by sprinkling a little lime juice on it.

You can adjust the amount of cheese powder, butter, chili seasoning, mayonnaise, and lime juice according to your taste.
